Hi, I'm Janelle.
I have realized this in life.... At some point (more accurately- multiple points) things will fall apart. At those points we have two options to face:
1. Let it sink and stunt us.
2. Courageously go through the messy process of healing.
I would argue that there is nothing more valuable than doing deep interior work that transforms our life for the better.
''Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us." -David Richo
I always consider it a privilege when someone allows me to be a part of their process. Would love to support you on your path towards healing and wholeness.
After graduating with my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2006, I began working in a drug and alcohol inpatient center treating addictions and trauma. At the inpatient center I worked with individuals and families impacted by addiction and co-dependency. I also led groups and taught classes around the topics of co-dependency and trauma. In 2011 I began working at a large counseling center treating a broad range of mental health issues. While there I worked with many military familes and veterans treating trauma. In 2012 I completed level II training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desenitzation Reprocessing) for treating trauma and PTSD. More information on EMDR here.
Random bits about me:
I love art. Specifically painting and interior design.
I love to travel. Italy and Ireland are my favorite places I have gotten to explore.
I love being in Nature. Yosemite is my favorite spot in CA.
I'm always reading something. There is a rotating stack of 5 books by my bed at any given time.
Before becoming a counselor I worked in a corporate job for 12 years.
